Skin Deep Eye Palette, Nars’s Ultimate Neutral Palette

Skin Deep Eye Palette

I haven’t talked to you about a shadow palette for a long time, with what I like. I know you do to Beiges, browns, bronzes, golds, and all that range of so-called “neutrals” are my weakness, and it is that, although my eyes go behind the colour, lately I do not leave them when it comes to putting on makeup.

One of the latest releases from Nars is Skin Deep, a limited edition palette that contains 12 eyeshadows in a perfect harmony of shades that combine matte finish with glitter.  I didn’t like so much a Nars palette from L’Amour Toujours, L’amour, which I told you about a few years ago and which included one more point of color.

As was the case with L’Amour Toujours and other brand palettes, the four shades in the first row are double-sized, an idea that other firms are already adopting, and that remains appreciated since the most basic tones remain worn before. Indeed all of you have a palette in which you no longer have that perfect beige that you like to put under the eyebrow, the medium brown with which you make the transitions and define the basin, or that dark brown almost black essential for smoked.

The tones are as follows. Only three of them can remain found in the fixed-line of the brand as a particular shade. I detail it next to each shade:

Taunt

Neutral cream color with a matte finish.

Sophia (fixed linear)Sophia (fixed linear)

Matte brown with cool undertone.

Whipped

A slightly more intense brown with a warmer undertone than Sophia, but also matte.

Undressed

Matte neutral taupe brown.

Bali (fixed linear)

Neutral dark brown with a matte finish

Icon

Although not fully appreciated, it is gold with a pink point and a lot of shine.

Basic Instinct

The brand defines it as “bright ice pink.”

Coconut Grove (fixed linear)

Very dark brown with a matte finish that is one of the essentials among the shades of Nars.

Centrefold

Glossy greyish beige. It reminds me of the mythical Satin Taupe from MAC, but a little clearer.

Calendar Girl

Classic old gold, slightly brownish, very bright.

Faster Pussycat

One of the most special shades of the palette, intense metallic copper.

Unbuttoned

Glossy deep brown.

I find it a versatile palette of shadows, which allows infinite combinations and looks, from the most discreet to the most intense and with the quality of Nars shadows. Pigmentation is excellent, and they blend very well.

From Nars, they warn that the formula of the shadows, which has been lightened to the maximum to allow precisely that they blur easily, can make them a bit dustier. Still, it does not seem excessive to me, and it is not something that matters to me when the product is of such quality.

You can find the Nars Skin Deep palette at Sephora for € 55.55. If you are looking for and capturing the perfect neutral palette, take a look
