As you have seen lately, there is a lot of talk about BOTs, especially Facebook BOTs. Since 2016 we started experimenting with BOTs in webinars and some of the Convierte + clients, achieving fantastic results. What once seemed like a novel tool available to large brands is now available to entrepreneurs, info producers, and any company for free or paying very little. Today I want to share this guide with you to understand all the possibilities you would have if you create and launch a Facebook BOT with your brand.

A Facebook BOT is a program that combines different technologies to automate tasks and interact automatically with users.

The best way to understand how a BOT works are by comparing it with the switchboard that we hear when we call large companies, this switchboard gives us different options, and if we want to, we will end up talking to a human at the end. The same thing happens with BOTs, we automate messages, but then there is always a way to speak to a person.

What are BOTs for? Main advantages

The main advantages of creating and implementing a BOT on a Facebook fan page are the following:

  • You can improve the customer service you offer
  • You will increase traffic to your website or mobile application.
  • You can pre-filter users interested in your products and services
  • You will increase your sales
  • You can integrate your Facebook Ads ads with your BOT to sell and report 24 hours a day.
  • You will decrease the basic support

Facebook BOT functionalities

As you may have previously read, BOTs can be our best ally if we implement them correctly. Next, I would like to show you some of the functionalities you can implement with a Facebook BOT.

1. Chat on your website

Chatting on your website is fine, but imagine sneaking into the personal Facebook of your potential clients and being able to continue talking even when they close your website.

I show you an example of what the chat with Facebook Messenger would look like on your website. The best thing about using this chat is that we can personalize the first message of the users who try to start a conversation with us and other subsequent messages.

2. Welcome message

The welcome message is the linchpin before launching a BOT. Although we can have predefined messages through the configuration of our fan page, the welcome news of a BOT allows you to implement advanced segmentation strategies.

The welcome message will depend on your business goals. In the image below, I show you two welcome message options. Both options are good and practical.

3. Gifts / Lead Magnets (downloadable)

The best BOT is the one that is focused on helping before selling. That is why it is so important to retain our subscribers with the content of their interest. In the image below, I show you an example of how I gift content to those interested in interacting with my BOT.

TIP: As you will see in the image, I put the download link in a button. I do this to tag the subscribers and to confirm their interest in the gift.

4. Automatic messages to users who comment on posts or advertisements

It is, without a doubt, my favorite feature. Since we use it, we can massively distribute our lead magnets, not to mention that with Facebook Ads, we have managed to increase our sales.

With broadcasts, we sneak into the mobile phones of our potential clients in a matter of seconds. It is no secret that many users use Facebook chat as if it were WhatsApp, something that is undoubtedly great for us as brands.

Every time we send a broadcast to users, a notification and sound appear on their mobile and computer. It causes the open rate of our messages to skyrocket (between 70% and 95% we usually have). This available rate is impossible to achieve with other marketing techniques such as Email Marketing.
